Construction by: Alair Homes / Alair Calgary
Project: Unveiled at the 'Barley and Smoke' charity fundraiser, this 8'x10' play fort forms one part of the "Olde Western Town" installation for Kid's Cancer Care's 'Camp Kindle'. Purposefully designed to withstand both the elements and many hours of play, it was equally important to incorporate quality materials, finishes and accessories to offer an overall immersive experience to the children who'll be enjoying it.
The design itself is comprised of a classic 19th century inspired western façade with an interior that leans more 19th century London, tying together two iconic architectural styles. The exterior shows off painted shiplap, stenciled signage and a place to tie up your horse after a ride into town and the interior offers more luxury with "marble" flooring, "tin" tile ceiling and finished off with gold and riches!
